The Pay Gap Sting
Couldn't believe it when a new hire spilled her hourly rate in the break room. She's making more than me, and I've been on this floor for three years now. It's just... wow. Did a little digging and found out it's not just her, but a few others too. Guess who's feeling like the biggest idiot now? How are you guys dealing with pay transparency issues on your units? Or is it just ours that's messed up?
Hate to say it, but this is why I never discuss pay. It's just a recipe for disaster.
Same boat, I found out a fresh grad is making more than me. Feels awful.
I'd go straight to HR with this, they don't want a lawsuit on their hands. And remember, you're not an idiot. It's on them, not you.
