Does anyone else feel weird about pay transparency? I mean, I just found out that a coworker with the same years of experience is making significantly more than me. I don't even know how to react. Why don't we talk about this stuff more? It's our livelihoods. Is it just me who thinks this needs to change?
Same here. I heard a rumor that a new grad is making more than some of us veterans. Pay structure is a black box.
Found out my buddy at the next hospital over is making $5 more/hr. It left a sour taste. Didn't think geography could make such a difference.
Maybe it's not all about years of experience? Could be different certifications, specialized skills, or even negotiating better at hiring. Not saying it's fair, just possible.
