Is Anybody Awake?
Just off a brutal night shift. Those things are supposed to be quiet, right? Today it was just one thing after another. When you're dealing with a full ward and understaffing, it feels like you're trying to hold back a flood with a coffee cup. And floating? Forget about it. No idea where anything was. Got my steps in, though. How do you guys manage the chaos? Is it always like this?
Oh boy, night shifts are a different beast. There's no such thing as a 'quiet' one. Just gotta ride the wave.
My first night shift went similar. Felt like I was left out on a raft with no paddle. You'll find your sea legs soon.
Honestly, I thrive in the chaos. Keeps me on my toes. It's not always rosy but it certainly isn't boring!
