Burned Out Already
I cried in the supply closet tonight. Second time this month. I love nursing, but right now, it feels like it's devouring me. The constant rush, the never-ending demands, the guilt when I can't do it all... it just doesn't seem sustainable. Is this just me? How do you cope with burnout without quitting nursing altogether?
Honey, you're preaching to the choir. Burnout is real. I've been there too.
Have you tried talking to your charge nurse or manager about how you're feeling? It might help to get it out in the open.
I find it helpful to remind myself why I chose this profession in the first place. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
