Travelers Making Bank
Met a traveler today, 12 weeks in our unit, friendly and all, but it stings a bit knowing they're making close to double my pay. I know travel nursing isn't all rainbows, they give up stability, but sometimes I wonder if dealing with management and our regular chaos isn't worth it. Anyone else have moments questioning if they went down the wrong path?
Travel nursing looks tempting, but remember the grass isn't always greener. I've heard horror stories about facilities literally falling apart and zero support.
Do travelers really make that much more than staff? I mean after housing, insurance, and all the other extras?
I've been a traveler for a couple years now. More money? Sure. But there's a trade-off with missing family and friends, constant change and the all-to-real risk of contract cancellation. …
