Short Staffed, Short Tempered
You know what grinds my gears? When management says they're 'working on' the staffing issue. It's been months and our unit is still dangerously understaffed. I can't serve five critical patients at once. It's not fair to them or to us. All the while, admin's tucked away in their offices, far from the chaos. How long until we break? How long until something truly catastrophic happens? Can we even afford to wait and find out?
This happened at my last hospital. We ended up walking out one day, couldn't take it anymore. The public backlash got management's attention real fast.
