Burnout is Real, Folks
Tonight, I found myself crying in the supply closet for the third time this week. Constant short staffing, overbearing docs, and the relentless wave of critical patients. I'm exhausted, mentally and physically. I'm dreading the drive to work now. Never thought I'd say this, but burnout is real, and it's hitting hard. How do you cope when the burnout is too much?
Did you try speaking to management about the staffing issue?
I'm not sure if it's burnout or if it's the system that's broken. Seems like we're overworked and underappreciated, all at the same time.
Right there with you. Hit that wall last year after a relentless ICU rotation.
