Toxic Unit Disarray

What a shift. Our unit has become so toxic that it's affecting patient care. Management doesn’t seem to care and morale is at an all-time low. Our team used to be tight, but the backstabbing and petty disputes are tearing us apart. How do you survive a toxic unit? Is it time to jump ship or should I stick it out and hope for change?

You can't pour from an empty cup. If you're not being supported, it's incredibly hard to give excellent care. Take care of yourself first.

Tough situation. I stuck it out at a similar unit and things did eventually turn around. Took a leadership change, but it got better.

What's the cause of the toxicity? Management, or the nurses themselves? Both need to be tackled for change.
