Small wins can feel big

Had one of those rare moments today that make it all worthwhile. A patient I've been with since the start of my shift, his condition improved and he thanked me. Straight from the heart. I didn't think I needed to hear it, but man, it felt good. Anyone else had a small win like that recently?

That's great! We don't often hear a thank you, but when we do, it sure hits home. I had a similar moment last week, really changes the shift's whole vibe.

I remember feeling that way early in my career. Now, a simple thank you doesn't offset the chronic understaffing and bureaucratic nonsense. But I'm glad you're still finding joy.
