Shadowing the Newbies

Precepting is a double-edged sword, isn't it? On one hand, I feel like it's my duty to show the new ones the ropes. On the other hand, do they really need to ask me a hundred questions while I'm in the middle of a 12-hour shift? It's like a constant reminder of how overwhelming and frustrating those initial days can be. Do they feel the same helplessness we once did?

I feel you! Those newbie questions can stretch a 12-hour shift into what feels like eternity.

I actually find it rewarding. Yes, the questions can be a lot, but then you see them grow in confidence and think 'I contributed to that'.

Remember when we were in their shoes? Bet our preceptors felt the same. It's just part of the cycle.
