Stretched Thin
Another 12 hour shift down, another one to go. Staffing ratios are a joke lately. Just tonight I had six critical patients. Six. And management says we're short-staffed and can't hire more nurses. How long before someone gets hurt because of this? Honestly, how do you guys handle it? How do you keep your sanity when you're so stretched thin?
Feel your pain. Here's my trick: take a 5-min break q4h, just breathe or grab a quick cup of joe. It's a lifesaver.
Honestly? Some days, you just feel like you're hanging by a thread. But then there's that one patient who smiles or says thank you, and it makes it all worth …
Outrageous! Management always has excuses. But who's left picking up the pieces? We are.
