Pay Transparency, Where Art Thou?
Found out today that my coworker, who started six months after me, makes around $4 more an hour. I'm pissed. We're doing the same job. I've been here longer, had more experience when I started. I confronted management, and they were like, it's based on 'market factors.' What does that even mean? I'm beyond frustrated and feel devalued.
Welcome to the club. Hospitals love that 'market factors' nonsense. It's all about shifting goalposts.
Who let the pay slip? That's a major HR violation. Be careful.
Don't let it get to you. Do your job, log your hours, and look for opportunities to grow.
